Since 1775, in one form or another, the United States Armed Forces have required an oath of enlistment, currently:

veterans salute

“I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God “

The Servicemen’s Readjustment Act of 1944, better known as the G.I. bill has guaranteed veterans rights since 1944. (http://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill/history.asp)

“As a country, we have a sacred obligation to serve you as well as you served us,
We are going to spend each and every day working to do right by you and your families.”

--President Barack Obama, Thursday, August 7, 2014

As veterans, we have honored our end of the bargain. veterans marchWe proudly took the oath of enlistment and proudly served our country. Most of us returned home. Some of us didn’t. Now, we will stand proudly shoulder to shoulder, once again. We have never been greater as a unit, never more proud as individuals, than when we fell into formation with our brothers and sisters at our side.

Let us honor our fallen, our less fortunate, our fortunate, and the spirit of every soldier.

So it is time once again:

Fall Into Formation

We choose to serve our nation yet again through our communities and our families. Let us show our unity.
